IIMC Online Professional Development Program: Leadership: Considering the Long Game
Wednesday, March 18, 2026
Leadership is not about winning today—it’s about building systems and relationships that endure. Drawing inspiration from Simon Sinek’s The Infinite Game, this session invites municipal clerks to explore leadership through a long-term lens. Participants will reflect on how purpose, trust, and resilience sustain effective governance and strengthen public trust over time. Together, we’ll examine how clerks—often the institutional memory of local government—can model “infinite” leadership that prioritizes community well-being, continuity, and ethical stewardship beyond any single election cycle or administration.
Points: 1 CMC or 1 MMC Advanced Education Point
EPP First Cohort members are invited to participate to earn 2 hours toward EPP Education with a completed learning assessment.
Instructor: Christian Quintero, Ed.D.
Christian Quintero has extensive experience in education, administration, and public leadership, with a career that spans roles as a secondary teacher and administrator within the Los Angeles Unified School District, as a Director in the Centralia School District and as a Coordinator of Community School for the Orange County Department of Education. Christian Quintero has a deep understanding of how aligning resources and fostering community partnerships can support not only student success but also broader community well-being.
Christian Quintero earned a BSc in Economics and Economic History from the London School of Economics and Political Science, bringing a global perspective to his work. Following that, he spent four years teaching English in China, gaining international experience in diverse educational settings. Christian Quintero returned to the U.S. to complete a Master’s in Education through University of California, Los Angeles’s Teacher Education Program and later earned a Master’s in Public Administration from the Principal Residency Network at California State University, Los Angeles.
In 2019, Christian Quintero completed a Doctorate in Educational Leadership for Social Justice at Loyola Marymount University, where his research centered on integrating arts education with career technical education pathways in secondary schools.
With a firm belief in the power of social-emotional learning (SEL), Christian Quintero now focuses on applying frameworks like CASEL to create equitable and supportive environments. This work is highly relevant to municipal clerks, as SEL aligns with building systems of engagement, resilience, and community trust—core to the clerical role in local governance.
